RE_EXHIBIT

RE_EXHIBIT_REWIND Online Gallery

Analogue video, once thought to be obsolete, lives on in the digital realm, ushering in a new era for this captivating medium to new audiences.

Since its inception, REWIND, through its various projects has digitised and brought back to life over 500 early video artworks and promoted early video by artists from the UK and internationally.

Starting in 2004 at DJCAD, University of Dundee, the projects include REWIND| British Artists’ Video in the 70s & 80s, REWINDItalia and EWVA European Women’s Video Art.

Developing from this international expertise and research, RE_EXHIBIT is a digital platform that will invite, commission and host online curatorial projects that develop from the REWIND Collections and create a dialogue with other early video art collections and contemporary film and video art.

RE_EXHIBIT aims to stimulate intergenerational and intersectional debates, conversations and dialogues on several themes and with different approaches to early video art, keeping at its core the values of equality and inclusivity.

Our exhibitions are listed below with videos, texts, materials and documentation, which will form an online archive. Please note the videos will only be available for the length of the exhibition.

RE_EXHIBIT functions on the basis of both invited curatorial proposals and invitations. If you are interested in collaborating please get in touch by sending a brief pitch (300 words and a bio) to rewind@dundee.ac.uk.
