Call For Papers Rewind Yugoslavia 1969-91 : International Conference on Video Art

REWIND Yugoslavia 1969-91 is a project focused on video art production, discussion and consumption from the former Yugoslavia, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (UK). The project is led by Gray’s School of Art, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, working in partnership with Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee.

This is the latest funded research project in Rewind’s long history of investigating, examining and preserving early works of video art. …

The REWIND Yugoslavia team held a discussion of their AHRC-funded research project online on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.

REWIND Yugoslavia is researching the history of Yugoslav video art from 1969-1991.

We outlined the scope and methodology of our project, discussing how this latest iteration of REWIND Artists’ Video relates to the previous projects; the extent of the research being carried out in Bosnia-Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia, and a presentation of fieldwork and findings to date. …
