Peter Boyd Maclean is a film maker and video artist.
While studying fine art film at St Martins School Of Art in London he formed The Duvet Brothers with fellow video artist Rik Lander.
Together they were at the forefront of a movement known as Scratch Video, a technique that manipulated archive footage in a rapid jump cut style to create new meanings.
Combined with hand held wobbly cameras, this style came to dominate television, music videos and advertising in the late 80’s and 90’s.
Peter has a reputation as an innovative television producer director with a strong visual style who can bring sensitivity and humour to his subjects and can inspire and motivate those around him.
His contribution has helped create groundbreaking television series such as Network 7, Eurotrash, The Lonely Planet, Moviewatch and Japanorama.
His comedy and animation credits include Crapston Villas The PJ’s The Morwenna Banks Show Banzai and the BAFTA winning series Barry Welsh Is Coming.
Peter’s versatility allows him to work in a broad range of genres from documentaries ,arts programmes and music videos to animation and comedy.
He is an exceptional writer and particularily enjoys developing and formatting a project from scratch. The success of many of his programmes is testament to this.
