University of Dundee Museum Collections

The University manages an Accredited public museum service run by Museum Services, part of the Culture & Information department. The collections cover art, science, medicine and natural history and are displayed in several venues including the Tower Foyer & Lamb Galleries, the D’Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum and the Tayside Medical History Museum.

The art collections include various video and digital artworks, mostly selected from the work of Animation, Fine Art and Time Based Art students at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. Many of these students have gone on to successful careers in film, television and computer games. There is also a small but growing number of digital artworks commissioned for the University collections from professional artists, and also some audio/visual work within abcD (artists’ book collection Dundee).

Relevant works from the Museum Collections will be added to this site, while the whole of the collection can be searched via http://museumsearch.dundee.ac.uk/
